Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often, in store and online. Can't find yours? Call us at 450 687-9777, email us at info@espacemeuble.ca or drop by 2200 Boulevard Le Corbusier in Laval.

Orders and lead times

Is your furniture in stock?

Most of it, yes, unless otherwise noted on the product page. We import directly from India, Indonesia and Thailand: you don't wait weeks for a factory order.

When will my order be ready?

Usually within 3 to 7 business days, depending on the piece. Decor and small items are often ready sooner; a table that needs its legs mounted or a finish may take a little longer. Delivery time is then added, and we keep you posted every step of the way.

Can I see the furniture before buying?

Of course. Our Laval store is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Come see the wood, sit down and take your measurements.

I'm ordering a live edge table: do I choose my slab?

Yes. After you order, we send you photos of the available slabs and you choose yours. All the details are in our guide Choosing a live edge table.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, within 72 hours of purchase, if preparation hasn't started. Some conditions apply, especially for special orders: see our return policy.

Delivery and pickup

Is delivery free?

Yes, within 40 km of Laval, on any purchase of $799 or more before taxes. You can also pick up your order for free at our store.

How much does delivery cost?

Beyond that, rates start at $69 for curbside delivery, up to 280 km from Laval. The rate is calculated in your cart based on distance and type of delivery. The full rate chart is on the Delivery and pickup page.

Curbside or white glove: what's the difference?

With curbside delivery, the furniture is dropped off outside and you bring it into your home. With white glove service, our team carries the furniture to the room of your choice, sets it up and takes the packaging away.

Do you deliver farther away?

Our truck delivers furniture up to about 280 km from Laval. Small items are shipped anywhere in Canada by carrier.

How do I know if my furniture will fit?

Measure the path from the street to the room: front door, hallways, stairs, elevator. Not sure? Send us your measurements and a photo, and we'll check with you.

Wood and care

Where does your furniture come from?

We import it ourselves from India, Indonesia and Thailand, with no middleman. That's what lets us offer solid wood at prices generally lower than the competition.

My furniture has a small crack: is it a defect?

No. Solid wood reacts to humidity: fine cracks may appear, especially in winter with the heating on. It's the mark of real wood and it doesn't weaken the furniture. Keep the room's humidity between 35 and 50%.

Will my furniture look exactly like the photo?

The model, yes. But the grain, colour variations and knots change from one piece to the next, even within the same model. For a piece with a lot of character, ask us for photos before delivery.

How do I care for my furniture?

It depends on the finish. On a varnished finish, a soft, barely damp cloth is all you need, with no oil or wax. An oiled finish is nourished with oil once or twice a year. All our tips are on the furniture care page.

Do you do repairs?

Yes. Our team can repair or touch up your furniture after purchase. Email us a photo and we'll let you know what we can do.

Payment and returns

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, at checkout on our website, with Shop Pay and subject to approval by Affirm. For purchases under $1,000: 2, 3 or 4 interest-free instalments. For purchases of $150 or more: monthly payments over 3, 6 or 12 months, with interest. We deliver your furniture without waiting for the last instalment. All the details are on the Payment and instalments page.

Can I return a piece of furniture?

Yes, within 10 days of receipt, if the item is in its original condition, unused, unassembled and in its complete packaging. Contact us first to get return authorization. Return shipping is at your expense, unless the item is damaged or defective.

Which items are final sale?

Clearance or final sale items, special or custom orders, one-of-a-kind pieces such as live edge tables, slabs and suar wood, and items already assembled or installed. They are identified on the product page or on the invoice.

My furniture arrived damaged: what should I do?

Take photos of the furniture and the packaging, then let us know no later than 5 business days after receipt. After review, we'll offer a repair, a replacement part, an exchange or a refund, and return shipping is on us.
